Ms. Cissé Mint Cheikh Ould Boide has been serving as Mauritania’s Ambassador to the United States since March 2021. Born on January 1, 1970, in Nouakchott, she previously held the position of Permanent Representative to UNESCO in Paris from 2019 to 2021. Her extensive experience includes roles as an international consultant focused on policy and strategy, as well as management and sustainable development. From 2009 to 2013, she served as Mauritania's Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, and earlier worked as Director of Tourism in the Ministry of Commerce, Craft, and Tourism. Mrs. Boide holds a Doctorate in Strategic and Operational Management of Supply Logistics from the Institute of Industrial Management in Lille, France, and has earned multiple degrees in tourism and administration.
