Mr. Arthur Asiimwe currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the Rwandan Embassy in Washington, DC. With an extensive background in media spanning nearly two decades, Asiimwe previously served as the Director General of the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA), where he led the agency's transformation into a fully independent public broadcaster. Under his leadership, RBA expanded its reach to operate three television channels, eight radio stations, and a comprehensive digital network, bolstering Rwanda's national media landscape.
Alongside his media expertise, Asiimwe has experience in the health sector, having served as Director General of the Rwanda Health Communication Centre under the Ministry of Health. He holds a Master's in Journalism from Carleton University, Canada, a Master’s in Public Health from the National University of Rwanda, and an MBA from Oklahoma Christian University in the United States. Additionally, he has completed a diploma in Strategic Leadership from the Swedish Institute of Management. Asiimwe has held roles as President of the African Union of Broadcasters (AUB) and former Chairman of Rwanda’s Media High Council, contributing his expertise to various boards within Rwanda’s media sector.
